This listing is for one ornament.
From the artist, Andrew Thornton: "I've always been fascinated with symbols. I am particularly drawn to eyes. I've always loved the saying that eyes are the windows to the soul. I remember drawing them on my hands. Later I discovered that that was a symbol for protection and good fortune. These are some ornaments that I made featuring that powerful motif. I sculpted the master, made a mold, used two different kinds of resin, drilled and tooled the resin copies, and hand-painted each one. I think I'll string them on knotted red ribbons for hanging purposes."
While this is similar to the Hamsa (or Hamesh), which is a symbol of protection from the evil eye and envy, it works with universal iconography. It is a work of art created from the childhood memories of the artist.
