"Nest" is the latest show by the talented artist, Kathy Dorfer. This is the first solo show at Allegory Gallery for this Palm Springs-based artist. Each of the pieces in the "Nest" exhibition features an "Alala" crow. The Alala crow is a Hawaiian bird that is now extinct in the wild and is perceived by some to be a House God. They are basically guardian angels and bring messages from the Divine. In Kathy's travels, she has come across her totem animal... from the Joshua tree, to the pebbly beaches of Port Townsend. The watercolors are whimsical and enchanting.
The piece measures approximately 5" wide by 4" tall and is framed in a simple and elegant black frame with a black border. Each piece is an original artwork and is signed by the artist. The paintings are executed with Sennelier watercolors (one of the oldest French paint companies still in business) on handmade paper and spray sealed with an archival fixative. All art sales are final. Art will be shipped after the close of the exhibition: May 1st.
